Glossary of terms used in the website
Occasionally we have to check availability with the property owner prior to confirm a booking. In most cases we are able to confirm availability immediately.
Property owners ask us to take a refundable security deposit. This is usually £200 and is held by us in a client account. It will be used to cover any damage or excessive cleaning required on departure. It can be paid any time up to 5 working days before your arrival but we usually ask for it when your balance is due. It will then be repaid within a week of your departure. If any dispute should arise we will act as arbitrator between the holiday maker and owner.
Properties have a stated changeover day usually a Friday or Saturday. During the normal holiday weeks, this is generally fixed but outside of these times we will be as flexible as we can about the start day – just ask us.
All our properties are given a “sailing boat” rating which is based on our understanding of the Visit Britain quality assurance scheme. Where a property has also been inspected independently by the Tourist Board, their grade will be displayed on the property page.
These are usually available outside the normal school holidays. They are charged at 75% of the total weekly rate for a 3-5 night stay.
This refers to properties which have easily accessible downstairs facilities including a bedroom and shower or bathroom. This does not mean that the bath or shower have hand rails, please ask our team for further information.
